What are the task model and process model referring to in BPM APIs?

Hi,

In the latest BPM APIs, there is a concept called model, like task model, process model. Some analytics interfaces have a method 'getModelId()', and there are also two interfaces called TaskModelManager and TaskModel. So what's the model referring to? Does the getModelId method return an instance ID?
