Hi,

I am working on a requirement where I need to call an SAP RFC (or a web service for that matter) in a loop and collect all the message responses, combine them in to and send it to another system or another BPM process.

I am completely lost as to how collect the data objects into lists something similar to the containerization operation in classic ccBPM. I can then used an n:1 operation mapping to merge the messages. However, I am struck at collecting them itself.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Experts,

we have SOAP to Idoc scenario. SOAP is synchronous but the target is Idoc, so we need to send the Acknowledgement from PI. Can you please let me know how to handle this? In PI 7.1 we are using Sync/Async bridge pattern and sending the response from PI BPM itself, now we are migrating to NWBPM.

I checked Sync/Async bridge pattern in the below link but that is Sync to Async Reqest then Async Response to Sync.

I'm trying to retrieve the ProcessCollection data retrieved from the BPM OData service using filtering and sorting, but there are 3 things I could not get to work:

Use case 1:

I have created a SAPUI5 view of which i have bound the ProcessCollection entity set to a table, with an initial filter set on status. This works just fine, I see the correct results in my table

If I now try to filter on SAPUI5 table column 'Name', I get a 400 Bad Request error : Methods are not supported for filtering of process instances

The resulting request URI from the SAPUI5 table filter operation is:

/bpmodata/processes.svc/ProcessCollection?$skip=0&$top=110&$filter=(substringof('XYZ',Name)) and (Status eq 'IN_PROGRESS')

Any way to get this to work with SAPUI5?

(Since it's explicitly mentioned methods are not supported this is obviously not a bug, but I wouldn't call it a feature either )

Use case 2 (bug?):

I try to set the sort order on StartDate for the resultset, but this does not work.

Is sorting not implemented in the BPM OData service for ProcessCollections? Seems rather important to have at least sorting capabilities in an OData service...

Request URI for sorting:

/bpmodata/processes.svc/ProcessCollection?$skip=0&$top=110&$orderby=StartDate asc&$filter=Status eq 'IN_PROGRESS'

Use case 3 (bug?):

I'm developing a BPM Process in which end users will need to attach documents. The customer wants to use OpenText to store the attachments. I already know how to use Java API's to use SAP ECM Backend. However, I didn't find any details about configuring OpenText as a 3rd party ECM Backend. There are lots of documents indicating that it is possible but nothing about technical details.

I found technical configurations in NWA -> Application Resources -> JCA Connection Factories. There are configurations for SAP ECM Backend. I guess I'll see the 3rd party connector here after developing / deploying connector implementation. My question is, is there specific connector released by OpenText or SAP ?

More generally, what is the best way to configure OpenText as a ECM Backend in BPM ?

I'm getting an strange error when debug a process. The only solution i found is creating a new process. After i create a new process it worked for a while then starts giving me same error in debug mode. I cant find any logs in nwa which related to this error.

Anyone has faced with the same error ?

I am having few queries related to the properties, "Process Instance Memory Threshold".

If we login to NWA --> Availability & Performance --> BPM System Overview, we could see some properties related to "Process Instance Memory Threshold".

I tried to find information related to these fields in SAP Help, I did find some information but this is very basic and didnt help in getting a better understanding of these properties.

Could some one please provide some deeper explanation related to these properties.

I have built a BPM in NWDS 7.31  SP11 which is on Compiler version: 4.7 . My SAP PO system is a 7.4 SP8  which is on runtime version 4.6 .

I exported the SCA file and tried to deploy the it in the "Deploy" perspective , I get the expected -

java.io.IOException: Could not instantiate network DA9D141412328479689D7B679549F6BA/TechnicalError.

The given process model was built with a NWDS or development track of a higher version than the target runtime. Revision number of built process model: 4.7. Revision number of process runtime: 4.6. Please refer to SAP note 1600131 for details.

Is it possible for me to manually "select" a lower version (say 4.6) in NWDS so that the SCA is compatible with the Java runtime system ?  I am not using NWDI , all development is local .

I am trying to configure managed system configuration in Solaman 7.1 sp level 07. In the managed system configuration, under Check configurartion i am getting a error which is "The definition of Technical System 'GRD~ABAP' is not correct: 'GRD~ABAP': Operating System 'Windows NT~6.1' of Host 'XXXXX' must have at least one Software Component Version" while setting up execution ststus in execute.

I have checked my managed system Host agent version and i got the output as unknown information instead of hostagent information as well as patch level 0..

Please help me to sort out the issue.

If you were able to find out the root component from the log description, create a CSN message on the appropriate component (either BC-BMT-BPM-SRV or BC-BMT-BPM-DSK) and attach the trace details.

If you were not able to find out the root component, create a CSN message on the component BC-BMT-BPM-MON and attach the trace details.

What is a CSN message? What does CSN stand for?

Hi,

I observe following unreproducable behaviour on our BPM server: once in a while an intermediate message didn't got consumed by a process instance or a timer event doesn't expires (process instance doesn't continue any more) or even a process instance doesn't get started. Remarkable is the fact that process instance archive sessions are running during these time slots when this misbehaviour happens. It seems to me that archiving takes so much server ressources that other functions are not always properly functioning. Has anybody else such behaviour or has anybody any hint what else might be the reason for such unreliable behaviour?

I cannot imagine that a seperate archiving server is necessary when up to 2000 process instances are to be archived per night.

We archive nightly up to 240 process instances plus subprocesses (about 5 subprocesses per main process instance) which takes about 8 hours. Processmodel contains several timer events which cause a lot of business log entries. NetWeaver 7.31SP06 + MSSQL, parallel archiving is activated.

I haven't found the answer to this question anywhere: does SAP BPM have choreography diagrams support or not? As well as collaboration and conversation ones.

I'm trying to archive my BPM process that are more than x number of days in Completed and Cancelled state. I understand that the archive job can be scheduled via Java Scheduler for task bpm_proc_write.

My main concern is if i enter the Completed_Time_Period as x number of days, the processes before x number of days from current are selected. But i actually wanted in reverse way. Below is my example

Say I have

10 Process - Completed on April 25th

10 Process - Completed on May 25 th

10 Process - Completed on Jun 25th

10 Process - Cancelled on July 25th

10 Process - Completed on Aug 24th

I will schedule my bpm_proc_write task to be run on every Saturday. In the bpm_proc_write parameters I just filled

Completed_Time_Period : 90 days

Cancelled : checked

Completed: checked

Actual Hapenning:

Below process are archived

10 Process - Completed on May 25 th

10 Process - Completed on Jun 25th

10 Process - Cancelled on July 25th

10 Process - Completed on Aug 24th

My Expectation:

Only the process that are completed/cancelled state and its in the database for more than 90 days must be archived

10 Process - Completed on April 25th

Could you please advise me how to achieve this?
